Ut fabulae visiones - city visions with a plot - focuses on the dialogue between the worlds of visualization and storytelling, exploring different tecnhiques with an emphasis on the evolution of representation of architecture and cities through the history of art.
Exercise
Starting from a critical analysis of a Calvino’s invisible city, the workshopshop is divided in progressive steps, each of them functional to the production of a final spacial narrative.
Consisting with the construction of a sort of Atlas mnemosyne, combined to a List of Topics [on the basis of Richard Hamilton methodology], every day the program will see the alternation of four main moments: a theoretical frontal class; a practical assisted workshop; a moment of collective confrontation; an individual reworking.

Objective
The goal of the step by step exercise is to produce a very personal vision of an ideal/virtual city, as an allegorical representation based on a structured narrative.
The output will be a choral work, a collection of images made with the collage technique, transversally assembling the most varied historical periods, but with the growing awareness of constructing a credible and coherent discorso per immagini with a precise narrative intent.
The aim of the workshop is to help the student to define a coherent and conscious visual language that allows the development of a proper narrative, a fiction, a visual and architectural rhetoric.
