Filippo Fanciotti (1988, Genoa) is an Italian architect, researcher, and visual artist based in Lausanne, Switzerland. He is currently a PhD candidate in Architecture and Sciences of the City at EPFL, where he also serves as Lecturer at the Laboratory of Arts for Sciences (LAPIS). Since 2023 he has been lecturer for the cours of Théorie et techniques de la figuration architecturale .
He graduated with honours in Architecture from the University of Genoa, Polytechnic School (2014). His thesis, IPOMOEOID: A Climbing Neighbourhood, was awarded as «Participant Favourite» at Archiprix International 2017. From 2014 to 2016 he was teaching assistant in design studios and was appointed «Subject Expert in Architectural Design» at the Department of Architecture and Design (DAD). He has been Adjunct Lecturer at Technische Universität Graz (Institute for Architecture and Media, 2019–20) and at University of Genoa, Polytechnic School (2022–23).
He has led several workshops for students in Europe, of which the last two at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Saint-Étienne (2025-26), further extending his pedagogical engagement in experimental approaches to architectural representation.
His research focuses on the pedagogy of architectural representation and on digital reconstruction method applied to virtual spaces in pictorial depiction, fostering an interdisciplinary dialogue between architectural drawing, media theory, and art history. He is co-founder of the architecture collective false mirror office , with which he develops research projects, workshops, exhibitions, and curatorial work. Since 2020 he has collaborated with the architecture studio P-A-N (Milan) . He previously worked at MVRDV (Rotterdam, 2013–14) and at una2 architetti associati (Genoa, 2015–17). Since 2021 his artistic activity has been represented by Lariot Collective (London-Madrid).
